An Industry Consultation System
Clauses 1.5 of the Standards requires RTOs to ensure their training and assessment practices are relevant to industry needs, and informed by industry engagement. Clause 1.6 states that RTOs must implement a range of strategies for industry engagement and systematically use the outcomes of industry engagement to ensure their training and assessment strategies, practices, and resources are relevant to industry, as are the current industry skills of their trainers and assessors. A simple industry consultation system can ensure your RTO easily meets these requirements and demonstrate your ongoing industry engagement.
Such a system requires:
A yearly schedule that identifies which training products the RTO will consult the industry about.
Someone to organise and schedule short interviews between an RTO representative and industry representative,
The RTO representative,
Access for the RTO representative to a training offering’s training and assessment strategies,
A questionnaire or form that is used to write down each industry representative’s answers,
A register to demonstrate the industry consultation activities you’ve undertaken, and
A place to keep evidence of the industry consultation activities you’ve undertaken.
We can provide:
The organisation of your yearly schedule,
Arrangement of interviews between us as your RTO representative and industry contacts you provide us,
Questions tailored to your training and assessment strategies to ask during the interview,
A report of the outcomes and recommendations from the industry consultation,
An industry consultation register in spreadsheet or SharePoint form.
